This is a GREAT opportunity to learn about the local, state and federal issues that affect us here in Monticello. and where each candidiate stands on those issues. Workers Compensation Reform

Steve Sviggum, former Speaker of the House, and current Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI)will visit the Monticello/Big Lake area on Monday, October 13. In his role as Commissioner, Sviggum leads Minnesota's effort to protect the health and safety of workers and employers in all parts of the state. On October 13, Commissioner Sviggum will discuss last year's failed reform bill, the necessity to reform workers' compensation in Minnesota, and the new bill that will be introduced in the 2009 Session.
Following a brief, approximately 20-minute presentation, the Commissioner will open the topic for discussion with a 40-minute Q&A session. Please join us on October 13th, 9:00 AM, at Connections in Big Lake for this important event. This meeting is especially relevant to industrial Safety Directors, self employed/small business owners, legal professionals and hospital/medical professional, but will be beneficial and informative for all of our members.
