  • Outstanding Ambassador of the Year 2017

Congratulations to Bob Somerville, Photos by Bob and Val Somerville for being recognized for his outstanding efforts this past year in promoting the Monticello Chamber and our events. Bob Somerville was instrumental in rebuilding our Art in the Park vendors.  We have so many new vendors because of his efforts.  He attended numerous ribbon cuttings and offered his photography skills at many of our events.  Thank you for helping lighten the load in the office.

Monticello Chamber’s Royal Ambassador Program gives three young ladies an opportunity to represent Monticello as Community Ambassadors for a year. As crowned Royal Ambassador for Monticello, their goal is to promote community spirit, involvement, and pride.  These three ladies represent and educate others about our great city.  Royal Ambassadors attend 85+ events throughout the year (25+ during their candidacy).  Criteria used to select the new ambassadors each year include:  team player, outgoing, wholesome, compassionate, genuine, respectful and responsible.  Monticello Royal Ambassadors shine from their hearts not just their crowns.  At the end of their reign, Royal Ambassadors are awarded two scholarships, one from the Riverfest Committee and another from the Chamber.  Committee meetings are scheduled as needed.
