The Crisis Nursery provides confidential, temporary, strength based resources for Wright County families undergoing stress in their family. The service is free for families in Wright County with children ages 0 - 12.
The Crisis Nursery is a voluntary and confidential service where families work with experienced, trained, caring staff and volunteers. We serve families living in Wright County with children birth through age of 12 who are highly stressed or in a crisis situation. There is no fee for our services. Many of the families who use the Crisis Nursery are living in poverty and are struggling with financial hardships which at times can have an affect on their ability to care for their children. Our goal is to help prevent child abuse and neglect by ensuring the safety and well-being of children while partnering with parents to find the underlying causes of the family?s stress or crisis.
We provide a 24 hour help line and our trained staff work with families to help identify solutions that will help resolve their crisis situation, as well as offer resources, parent education, brief counseling, referrals, supplies such as diapers and wipes, and short-term care daytime or overnight care in licensed Wright County homes and daycares.
Our Crisis Nursery was established in 1992 and is now part of Kindred Family Services, a non-profit provider of treatment foster care and family based services. The Crisis Nursery is a community based, volunteer driven, confidential program with 2 part-time staff and many volunteers.
